A Poem about Seaweed
By V. Gail Tobey
It seems so insignificant
This brown and floating weed
Cast along the shoreline
Like ordinary seed.
The hand that did the casting
Knew more then you and I
For there’s nutrients and benefits
This seaweed can supply.
They say we shouldn’t harvest
This weed along the shore
But biologists and science
Know there’s health and so much more.
For horses, dogs and cattle
And even you and me
There are life sustaining elements
From this wealth along the sea.
It has proven life sustaining
To an undernourished horse
And for dogs who need vitality
Seaweed is “The Source”
